What are the differences between Bigen Powder and Bigen Semi-Permanent Color?
Both products are deposit-only hair colors. However, Bigen’s Permanent Powder Hair Color lasts much longer than the other due to differences in coloring mechanism.
Bigen Permanent Powder is an oxidative dye that deposits color your hair to last at least 20 shampoos. It contains a low level of peroxide to become activated when mixed with water, to ensure that the colorants penetrate the hair without lifting (lightening) away your natural pigments to remain gentle to the hair. Since it will cover both outside of the cuticle as well as bit into the cortex, the product lasts as long as most permanent hair dye products, but with much less damage to the hair.
Semi-Permanent Hair Colors, including Bigen’s, is even less invasive. They usually don’t contain any peroxide, and simply coat the hair. The benefit of this type of product is that it doesn't add more damage to the hair, and can be used over relaxed or bleached hair, even on the same day. The trade-off compared to the Bigen Permanent Powder, is that it will wash off with each shampoo. While specific counts may vary per shade and condition of hair, on average it will maintain colors for about 8 shampoos.
